📖 Rules
Mahjong can be played with slightly different rules.
In Sweden we mainly play two different variants, en som bygger på kinesisk tradition – MCR (Mahjong Competition Rules) och en som bygger på japansk tradition – Riichi – RCR (Riichi Competition Rules).
MCR – Mahjong Competition Rules
'The Green Book' – the original rules for MCR adopted by WMO (World Mahjong Organization) in 2006. The 2006 version is still used in competitive play, even though WMO adopted a revised version of the MCR rules in 2014. The European organisation EMA (European Mahjong Association) adopted a supplement to the rules in 2010 for use in European tournaments. EMA also adopted in 2009 an overview of various infractions and their consequences.
